Conleth has been involved with geotechnical centrifuge for more than 20 years, and took over as director of the NGCF in 2018 in addition to pursuing his main research interests in offshore anchoring, soil characterisation and foundation systems for offshore renewable energy devices.

With experience in both university and engineering practice, Colm supports engagement with our industry partners. Colm’s main research interests include the response of morring chains and anchors.

With over 25 years geotechnical consulting experience including Global Director of GeoConsulting for Fugro, Phil is the Shell Professor of Offshore Engineering and Director of the ARC Industrial Transformation Research Hub for Transforming energy Infrastructure through Digital Engineering (TIDE) at UWA. 

Britta is a professor in offshore geotechnical engineering with over a decade of experience in offshore wind energy. Combining experimental and numerical approaches to understand complex soil-structure interactions, her work has been applied across the industry to improve outcomes.

Christophe is well-known in the geotechnical centrifuge modelling community, and was the driving force behind the formation of the NGCF, which he founded in 2016. Christophe is currently the Director of UWA’s Oceans Institute.

The founding Director of the Centre for Offshore Foundation Systems, and currently Emeritus Professor and Honorary Fellow at UWA, Mark has a long history with centrifuge modelling, having commissioned the first (beam) centrifuge at UWA in 1988 and the second (drum) centrifuge in 1996.

Director of the Centre for Offshore Foundation Systems and the Fugro Chair in Geotechnics at UWA, Fraser specialises in geotechnical engineering and soil mechanics, with an emphasis on offshore geotechnics.

Shazzad’s research on offshore foundations has utilised centrifuge modelling to expose the mechanisms of spudcan punch-through failures and to develop novel spudcan designs for mitigating punch-through and spudcan-footprint interaction issues.
